May 29, (THEWILL) – The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned Nigerian artist, Speed Darlington, for questioning following a viral Instagram Live video in which he allegedly admitted to having a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl.
The singer later claimed his remarks were part of a publicity stunt for new music and issued an apology for any offence caused.
However, NAPTIP has taken action, stating that failure to comply with the summons could lead to legal consequences.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, NAPTIP reaffirmed its commitment to protecting minors and ensuring accountability in cases of alleged sexual exploitation.
