October 22, (THEWILL) — The 2025 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, the global online praise and worship session led by Nigerian gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey, has surpassed 1.2 million viewers across various social media platforms.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), over 1.2 million worshippers joined the midnight session on Wednesday via YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Now in its 15th day, the October edition continues to unite Christians worldwide in nightly worship and prayer.
Launched in 2017 as a spontaneous Instagram Live session from Bassey’s living room, the Hallelujah Challenge has grown into one of the world’s largest online Christian gatherings.
What began with a few thousand participants has expanded to millions who share testimonies of healing, breakthroughs, and answered prayers.
Bassey described the growing participation as evidence of divine intervention.
He said, “What began as a simple act of obedience to host a midnight praise session has turned into a global altar of worship. Every time we lift our voices, we witness God move in powerful ways that transcend borders and denominations.”
Reports from Nigeria and the diaspora show steady growth in participation throughout 2025, with many describing the Challenge as one of the most impactful digital faith movements of the decade.
Each session begins at 11:59 p.m. and lasts about an hour, featuring songs of praise, prayer, and worship. The series often culminates in a live Hallelujah Festival attended by thousands who gather to celebrate and share testimonies.
Reaffirming the mission of the Challenge, Bassey said, “The Hallelujah Challenge is not just an event—it’s a movement. When believers gather in one accord to exalt God, miracles happen. That’s what we’ve seen since 2017, and we are only just beginning.”
As the October edition progresses, he urged participants to remain steadfast in faith.
“We’re living in a time when the world desperately needs hope. Through praise, we’re declaring that God still reigns and still answers prayers,” Bassey said.
