March 27, (THEWILL) – Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain, has volunteered to shelter 30 Ukrainian refugees at his home, providing them with a bed, food and clothing.
The Costa Rican will renovate his movie room to welcome the refugees after going through a Spanish Christian charity.
Navas is now on international duty, having played a major role in his country’s triumph over Canada, which kept them in contention for a World Cup berth.
Meanwhile, in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, the war against Russian forces continues. While NATO countries backed Kyiv and sought to punish Moscow with sanctions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy begged them to send more planes, tanks, and weapons to help his country’s tenacious struggle.
After struggling to make gains in the first month of the war, Moscow’s soldiers appeared to be concentrating their efforts on securing control of eastern Ukraine, while fending off Ukrainian counter-offensives.
