November 09, (THEWILL) — Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed the controversy surrounding the arrest of Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, accusing him of harassment, drug involvement, and repeated misconduct.
Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos and later transferred to Abuja, where he was arraigned and remanded at the Keffi Correctional Centre following a petition alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying, after reportedly failing to honour multiple police invitations.
In a detailed Facebook post, Nwoko claimed that Sammy frequently harassed his children and domestic staff, especially when he was away from home.
The senator recounted sponsoring Sammy’s last two years at the University of Ekpoma, and covering expenses such as musical equipment, rent, and the furnishing of an apartment in Abuja.
He also alleged that he provided monthly financial support to Regina Daniels’ family, including over ₦125 million transferred to her mother in the past two years.
Nwoko further accused Sammy of introducing Regina to drugs and sabotaging her rehabilitation process.
He wrote, “When Regina started her rehabilitation, doctors instructed that her enablers should be restricted from access to her. Unfortunately, Sammy and some others defied these orders, sneaking into the house to give Regina the same drugs she was being treated for.
“Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced and supplied these drugs to her. They were deeply involved in the habit themselves, and rather than helping her get better, they kept drawing her back into the same destructive lifestyle,” he added.
Nwoko also addressed the viral video in which Regina Daniels accused him of domestic violence, claiming it was a staged act orchestrated by Sammy and others.
“Everything that happened that day was in my absence. Nobody was beaten. Sammy and other siblings attacked my staff, taking Regina away after filming a video they posted online the next day. It was all a planned script, even though my kids were present,” Nwoko stated.
“They took several items from my house, including one of my phones, money, and other valuables. That video was shot in front of my house by Regina’s sister and her friend. It was pure Nollywood.”
