April 28, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Football Federation has instructed football associations in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, to handle team registration for the AITEO Federation Cup competition 2022.
The Federation issued a circular on Wednesday, directing that team registration for this year’s edition of the country’s most attractive football championship begin on Sunday, May 1, 2022 and last for 13 days.
According to the directive, the NFF must receive copies of completed players’ licences by Saturday, May 14, and the competition in the States to pick two representatives for the national tournament will take place between May 15 and June 15.
By the June 15, the National Football Federation’s Competitions Department aims to obtain the names of each state’s two flagbearers for the national competition.
This will enable the football governing body properly prepare for the competition, whose winners represent Nigeria at the prestigious continental CAF Confederations Cup.
