
April 21, (THEWILL) – The Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s Under-20 team, face a daunting challenge in their bid for glory at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The tournament draw, released on Friday afternoon in Zurich, pits the young Nigerian team against former champions Brazil, Italy and the Dominican Republic in Group D.
Nigeria’s qualification for the tournament came after finishing third at the 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. The team will be hoping to improve on their previous performances at the tournament, having been finalists in 1989 and 2005.
