April 30, (THEWILL)- Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been named the French D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2023/2024 season. The Paris FC shot-stopper’s exceptional performances, particularly in penalty situations, earned her this prestigious accolade.
Nnadozie set a new record for the highest number of penalties saved in Europe during the season, denying opponents seven spot-kicks in the league and Champions League. Her heroics led Paris FC to victories in shoot-outs against top teams like Arsenal and Wolfsburg, propelling them to the semi-final stage of the Women’s Champions League before their elimination by Lyon.
