November 24, (THEWILL) — Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of actor Odira Nwobu, who reportedly passed away in the early hours of Monday, November 24, 2025, in South Africa.
The news was announced by actor and producer Stanley Ontop via Instagram, where he revealed that he received a call informing him of Nwobu’s sudden death.
Ontop stated that the actor had been battling complications related to high blood pressure.
He added that Nwobu was at a club in South Africa the night before but died shortly after returning home the next morning.
He wrote: “According to the report, he had high blood pressure. Omo, it’s well… someone who was in the club last night.”
Nwobu had survived a ghastly car accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway just a few months ago.
As of the time of filing this report, Nwobu’s family is yet to issue an official statement on his passing.
