February 09, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress, Faithia Williams, has announced the death of her mother, disclosing that she only became aware of the loss after celebrating her 55th birthday.
In a statement shared via her Instagram page on Monday, the actress revealed that her mother passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, a day before her birthday celebration.
She explained that the information was intentionally withheld from her until after the event.
“Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother passed on the eve of my party, and the news was cruelly kept away from me”, she wrote.
Williams described her late mother as her greatest supporter, prayer partner, and close confidant, adding that the loss is still difficult to accept.
She said the family has chosen to keep the matter private for now and appealed for prayers and support. She added that details of the burial arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
“Your love and prayers will mean a lot to me and my siblings during this period. Burial details will be announced later”, she stated.
Since the announcement, colleagues and fans have continued to express their condolences and support.
