March 09, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, says her commitment to personal values kept her from becoming a billionaire.
She made the disclosure during a recent appearance on The Afropolitan Show, where she reflected on some of the hard decisions she made throughout her career.
According to Omotola, she has encountered several lucrative opportunities that could have significantly increased her wealth but required her to compromise her principles.
“If I wanted to be a billionaire, I would have been it easily because I have been in situations where no one would have known, and I would have taken things and compromised my stands. But I would say no, and I would walk away. Many times, and some of those people are even watching me today”, she said.
She explained that choosing to uphold her values, even when the money was tempting, was more important than the financial reward.
She added that walking away from those offers has brought her fulfilment beyond money.
Omotola is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most influential figures, with a career spanning more than two decades in film, television, and advocacy.
