August 30, (THEWILL) — Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars Sports Club shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday. The Nigeria Premier Football League encounter saw both teams seeking their first points of the 2025/2026 campaign after suffering defeats in their opening matches.

Shooting Stars took an early lead, but Bendel Insurance responded swiftly to level the score. Ismail Ayodele put the visitors ahead in the fifth minute of the match. However, the lead was short-lived as Alex Oweilayefa equalised for Bendel Insurance in the 12th minute. Both teams displayed attacking intent from the outset, reflecting their desperation to earn a win and put some points on the log.

The remainder of the match was a tightly contested affair, with both sides creating opportunities. Neither team, however, could find the breakthrough to take all three points. Both defences stood firm, ensuring the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.
