May 01, (THEWILL) — Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red and the son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, narrowly escaped an “assassination attempt” in Osogbo on April 29, 2026.
According to a statement by Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM near the Oke-Fia area, close to the Government House.
B-Red explained that he was driving near Alekuwodo Market when the attack began.
“As I went out to buy some things around Alekuwodo Market, I saw several Okada riders wearing AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge,” he said.
“As we tried to move out, a white Toyota Venza approached us, with the occupants shouting, ‘It’s him! It’s him!’”
As B-Red attempted to escape, the Toyota Venza pursued him, with more motorcycles joining the chase. The pursuit continued until he reached the gate of the Osun State Government House.
B-Red identified one of the suspects as Asiri Eniba, a notorious political thug linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kolapo Alimi later described the incident as a politically motivated security breach and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Asiri Eniba.
He condemned the actions of those involved, urging swift action to bring them to justice.
While B-Red escaped unharmed, the incident has raised serious concerns about his safety amid escalating political tensions in the region.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, and the state government has called for immediate action to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
