January 19, (THEWILL) – Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s aide, Ossai Ovie Success says that parents are the reason young boys and girls engage in certain vices such as prostitutions and ritual killings.
He revealed that parents are failing in their responsibility towards their children and no longer bring up their children in the fear of God.
This is why there is an increase in prostitution and ritual killings. He stressed that people should stop putting the blame on government’s inability to provide jobs for the youths.
He reminded them that government cannot provide jobs for all Nigerians. Adding that peer pressure is also a factor that might lead to those vices but the Youths give in to the vices because they are not properly trained at home.
He revealed that no amount of pressure would make a child trained in the fear of God do certain things.
Stating further, he said parents no longer question the source of their children’s wealth.
He questioned parents who don’t know where their children lives. And those who don’t know the kind of friends their children keep. He added that most parents will not reject money given to them by their children even though they know that such money was gotten through illegal means.
He added that parents should try and answer some of the questions he raised.
