June 26, (THEWILL) – Josh Parisian stopped Alan Baudot at UFC Vegas 57, after surviving an early knockdown and delivering some brutal ground-and-pound.
A standing hammer fist put Parisian in difficulty early on, but he battled back and put Baudot on the mat, where the French fighter was unable to escape late in the first round and again in the second. When Parisian gained the upper hand, he began to drop punches, forcing referee Mark Smith to save Baudot from more harm.
At 3:04 in the second round, Parisian was stopped by TKO, improving his record in the octagon to 2-2. But it was a fine fight from the bell. Baudot and Parisian repeatedly slung heavy leather at each other as the heavyweights were more than happy to trade blows. Blood began to trickle down Parisian’s face as an early punch from Baudot caused a gash under his eye.
Despite being knocked to the ground, Parisian ultimately returned to his feet and began to seek for a takedown of his own, which led to Baudot being seated on the mat just before the first round came to a close. After that, Parisian started throwing punches at Baudot, who was now pinned beneath him.
Parisian continued to hit Baudot with punches until the referee finally had enough and intervened to end the fight, and, in what might be his final fight in the UFC, Baudot falls to 0-3 with one no-contest result inside the octagon thanks to the comeback victory, which let Parisian get back to winning ways after losing his previous bout.
