June 12 (THEWILL) — Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has opened up about why she often takes on villainous roles in films.
In a light-hearted video that has gone viral, she said her choice of characters comes from a desire to expose problems in society that are rarely discussed.
“I felt bold to expose the ills of society. These things happen, and nobody wants to expose them, so I’m exposing them. I’m not like that, but I will expose it”, she said.
Ozokwor added that she is proud of the impact her roles have had over the years and remains grateful to her fans.
Known for her memorable portrayals of strict mothers, wicked characters, and other complex roles, she has become one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, Mama G has remained one of the most respected and influential figures in the Nigerian film industry.
Many fans credit her performances with helping to spark conversations about social issues and everyday life in families.
