
November 29, (THEWILL) – Pedro González López, known affectionately as Pedri, has won the Kopa Trophy for the Best Player Under 21 at the 2021 Ballon d’Or ceremony, which is currently underway.
The 19-year-old beat Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala to win the world’s best young player prize. Nuno Mendes, who finished fourth, Mason Greenwood, and Bukayo Saka, who finished fifth and sixth, were also in the race for the award.
In his debut season of senior football, Pedri played an incredible 73 games for Barcelona and Spain (including Euro 2020 and the Olympics).
Before the two summer games, the brilliant midfielder helped Barca win the Copa del Rey.
