March 18, (THEWILL) — Nigerian TikToker, Peller, has addressed two major controversies involving him, maintaining that he is not responsible and insisting on his innocence.

One issue relates to his unauthorised visit to the palace of Oba Ewuare II in Benin City on March 6, 2026, during his nationwide tour.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Benin Traditional Council described his uninvited entry as a breach of sacred traditions.

The council announced disciplinary actions, including the suspension of a chief and the possible removal of a palace queen who appeared in Peller’s video. It also stated that staff who facilitated the visit have been sanctioned and warned that Peller could face legal action if he fails to apologise.

The council has also summoned Peller to appear before a committee of chiefs to explain his actions and issue a written apology.

Responding during a livestream, Peller said he only acted on his manager’s instructions and was unaware of any protocol violations.

“It was my manager who told me to go to the Palace of the Oba of Benin. I was doing my thing before he came to meet me, and they wanted me in the palace. He will be the one to attend to them and face whatever consequences. I did nothing. My hands are clean like hypo. When I got to the palace, I greeted everyone respectfully, including small children. Everything now looks like a setup,” he said.

The second controversy involves a ₦395 million lawsuit filed against him by Lagos resident Osarobo Osarenoma Odigie.

In a pre-action letter dated March 10, 2026, her lawyers accused Peller of defamation, cyber harassment, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress, with damages totalling ₦395 million.

The claim includes ₦200 million for defamation, ₦100 million for emotional trauma, ₦75 million for cyberbullying, and ₦20 million for legal fees.

The case stems from an incident on January 6, 2026, at Folixxx Lounge in Lekki, Lagos, where Peller allegedly insulted Odigie, recorded a confrontation without her consent, and shared the video online, leading to backlash.

Reacting, Peller said he cannot afford the amount being demanded and appealed for understanding.

“I don’t have the money to give to the woman suing me. It feels like everyone wants me to go broke just so I can be on Lucky Udu’s show. I’m begging, I’m just a small child in this, and a child cannot function without direction. I have even apologised to her before”, he said.
