June 29, (THEWILL) – In the pursuit of their English Premier League title ambitions, Arsenal has set their sights on a world-class striker, and celebrity journalist, Piers Morgan, has made a strong case for Victor Osimhen to fill that role.
In the previous season, despite being on top of the table for a significant portion of the campaign, Arsenal missed out on the title by a five whole points. While the Gunners have already started bolstering their squad for the upcoming season, including signing Kai Havertz and nearing the completion of a club record deal for Declan Rice, Morgan believes that the addition of a top-tier striker is crucial for the team’s success in major competitions.
Taking to Twitter, Morgan expressed his thoughts, posting: “It’s brilliant that Arsenal seem to have won the race to sign Declan Rice, who will be a monstrously good addition to the team. But if we want to win big trophies, we also need a world-class striker, who will score 25+ goals a season. I would break the bank for Victor Osimhen.”
This is shocking, coming from the very critical Morgan, but Osimhen has earned such high praise and recommendation due to hard work and determination to better his scoring abilities. His exploits last season and the bundle of scoring talents he has garnered have attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich.
To deter potential suitors, Napoli have placed a hefty price tag of €150 million on the Nigerian forward, who has earned 26 caps for the Super Eagles national team. Arsenal, eager to improve their attacking prowess, have not joined the race for Osimhen’s signature, but Morgan believes it will be to their advantage to do so and quickly too. The questions will be whether Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar think likewise and if they have the budget for it.
