January 30, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur have secured the transfer of Pedro Porro from Sporting CP.
The deal has been in the works for several months, with Tottenham targeting the right wing-back as a key reinforcement for the squad. After negotiations that went down to the wire, both clubs have finally reached an agreement, with Porro set to join Spurs for a reported fee of €48m.
Porro had already agreed on personal terms with Tottenham, and the transfer was held up only by the two clubs’ disagreement over the fee. However, a resolution was reached and the transfer is now set to go through, with Porro undergoing a medical on deadline day.
In addition to the transfer fee, Sporting CP will also receive 65% of any future fee for Tottenham academy graduate, Marcus Edwards, while Spurs will retain 35%. With the agreement now in place, Porro is expected to sign for the north London club before the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday.
