October 06, (THEWILL) — Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has urged the government to ban prank videos following a recent altercation at Port Harcourt International Airport.

A viral video circulating online shows the singer, dressed in beige clothes, angrily confronting an unidentified man amid a crowd of onlookers before being restrained by airport security personnel in blue uniforms and pulled toward a waiting vehicle.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Portable broke his silence, claiming he was attacked by “death pranksters” — individuals who stage fake deaths for online content.

“Those people came to prank me. They were death pranksters. It almost turned to cultist level. Ten yellow no fit stand one blue,” he said in a mix of English and Yoruba.

The singer accused the pranksters and certain online bloggers of trying to tarnish his reputation, calling for government action to stop such behaviour.

“Make the Government stop all those pranksters and some fake bloggers. Make them stop all these fake news posts just because of small fame. Why una dey spoil person wey get glory name with una platforms”, he posted.
