May 02, (THEWILL) — Singer Portable welcomed a baby boy with his wife, Omobewaji Ewatomi, shortly after losing a celebrity boxing match to skit maker Carter Efe in Lagos.
The birth was announced on Instagram by both Portable and his wife.
Omobewaji shared, “Alhamdullillah,” and revealed the newborn’s name as Jamal Iremide, describing him as “my little blessing.”
Portable wrote, “My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt, but not my child.”
He made the announcement hours after being defeated by Carter Efe on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the ‘Chaos in the Ring 4’ event at Balmoral Hall, ending Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing champion.
Despite the defeat, Portable stressed that the birth of his son was a greater achievement than any title.
“While my wife was in labour, I was fighting. I thought I was going to dance with my belt, but I ended up with my new baby,” he said.
Portable already has multiple children from different relationships. The newborn is his third child with Omobewaji.
