March 24, (THEWILL) — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are working on a new drama series for Netflix, adding to their growing slate of projects with the streamer.
The couple will serve as executive producers on the untitled series, which is set in Wellington, Florida, and focuses on rival polo teams and their families.
The project is still in early development, and no release date has been announced.
The drama will be written by Francisca X. Hu, known for work on TV series including “Dynasty” and “Sleepy Hollow”.
It is expected to explore the world of polo beyond its elite image.
This marks the couple’s second polo-related project with Netflix, following their 2024 non-fiction docuseries “Polo”, which offered a look at the global polo circuit but received limited viewership and mixed reviews.
Prince Harry has long been associated with the sport, having played polo for many years, often in charity matches.
The new series comes amid reports about the couple’s relationship with Netflix. However, a senior executive at the company recently dismissed claims of tension, saying projects are still in development under their deal.
The Duke and Duchess signed a multi-year partnership with Netflix through their production company, Archewell Productions, and have released projects including the docuseries “Harry & Meghan”.
The series is being produced by Archewell Productions in collaboration with Fake Empire.
The upcoming series marks the couple’s move into scripted shows as they continue to grow their work with Netflix.
