April 10, (THEWILL) — The charity Sentebale, which Prince Harry co-founded in 2006 to support children with HIV and AIDS in Botswana and Lesotho, has filed a defamation lawsuit against him and former trustee Mark Dyer in London’s High Court.
The case follows Harry’s resignation as a patron in March 2025 after a public dispute with the charity’s chair, Sophie Chandauka.
Sentebale alleges a “coordinated media campaign” damaged its reputation and disrupted its work.
A spokesperson for the charity said the court action seeks “intervention, protection, and restitution” for the harm caused. The claim was filed on March 24, 2026, but no court documents have been released.
A Charity Commission review in 2025 said both sides made the dispute public, harming Sentebale’s reputation and work. It did not find evidence of bullying or harassment.
Prince Harry co-founded Sentebale with Prince Seeiso in honour of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The charity supports vulnerable children in southern Africa, particularly those living with HIV and AIDS.
Representatives for Harry and Dyer have not responded to the lawsuit.
