
July 13, (THEWILL) — After a thrilling season of standout performances, Purp has been declared the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 10, walking away with an impressive prize package, including N30 million, a brand-new SUV, and other exciting rewards.
The grand finale, held in Lagos, was a celebration of Nigerian musical excellence.
Hosted by the charismatic IK Osakioduwa, the event featured powerful performances from all eight previously eliminated contestants, showcasing their remarkable growth throughout the competition.
Adding to the excitement, past winners including Kingdom Kroseide (Season 6), Progress Chukwuyem (Season 7), Victory Gbakara (Season 8) and Chima Udoye (Season 9) made special appearances, highlighting the show’s legacy of discovering exceptional talent.
The night’s musical highlights also included a show-stopping performance by Nigerian music icon Omawumi, who performed her new single.
The tenth season kicked off with online and physical auditions, followed by the intense Theatre Week challenges that narrowed the competition to the Top 10 finalists. The live shows commenced on May 25, featuring weekly showcases of the contestants’ growing talent.
With this victory, Purp now joins Nigerian Idol’s impressive list of winners who have made their mark in Africa’s music industry.
