June 24, (THEWILL) – Glasgow Rangers have shown reluctance to meet Cremonese’s £6.5 million valuation for Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers.
Cremonese are reportedly determined to hold out for their asking price, potentially halting Rangers’ pursuit of the Nigerian forward. Although Dessers is highly regarded by Rangers coach, Michael Beale, who sees him as a valuable addition to support new signing, Sam Lammers, the discrepancy in valuation might impede any further advances from the Scottish club.
Initial reports monitored by THEWILL suggested that Dessers is also not exactly keen on a move to Rangers and would prefer to remain in Serie A. Torino are one of the Italian clubs that have expressed interest in the Nigerian international. Dessers is currently under contract with Cremonese until June 30, 2027.
In an attempt to sweeten the deal, Cremonese is prepared to offer Senegalese forward, Demba Seck and Lithuanian midfielder, Gvidas Gineitis, as part of the transfer package. During his debut season in Italy, Dessers contributed seven goals and two assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Cremonese, which by his standards is low, but was mostly due to the reduced play time he was allowed.
