December 16, (THEWILL) – Guido Burgstaller has been hospitalised after a violent assault in Vienna, with the Austrian club Rapid Vienna confirming severe head injuries sustained during the weekend.
The 35-year-old striker, who has previously played for Cardiff City and Schalke, is currently receiving medical treatment for a fractured skull base following an unexpected attack by an unidentified man in the city centre.
The club released a detailed statement explaining that Burgstaller was immediately examined and treated at a Vienna hospital.
