December 29, (THEWILL) – Liverpool face the potential departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, with Spanish media reporting that an agreement is nearly complete. The England international, whose contract runs until June 2025, could sign a pre-contract agreement with the Spanish giants when the January transfer window opens.
According to MARCA, Alexander-Arnold has informed Liverpool of his intention to join Real Madrid. Fellow Spanish publication, AS, states the transfer is “90%” finalised, with only the player’s signature remaining to complete the arrangement. The defender has reportedly declined multiple contract extension offers from Liverpool.
Real Madrid’s interest stems from their need to strengthen the right-back position, considering Dani Carvajail’s injury concerns.
