February 01, (THEWILL) – Spanish football giants Real Madrid have revealed they will be making a major announcement this Friday regarding a lucrative new sponsorship deal. According to reports by the Spanish publication MARCA, the deal will see technology giant HP become Real Madrid’s first-ever shirt sleeve sponsor in a contract worth €200 million per year.
This deal comes alongside Real Madrid’s existing lucrative sponsorship agreements, including €120 million per year from kit manufacturer Adidas and €70 million annually from main shirt sponsor Emirates. With the additional €200 million per year from HP, Real Madrid will now boast the highest shirt sponsorship earnings of any football club globally.
The substantial boost to Real Madrid’s finances will aid their competitiveness in the transfer market at a time when European rivals face financial difficulties. Real Madrid have notably gone without making any senior signings in the January 2024 transfer window, but HP’s sponsorship funds are likely to facilitate high-profile summer moves.
Reports suggest Real Madrid still hold strong interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who will be out of contract this summer, as well as emerging talents like Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. However, competition for the Nigerian from English Premier League clubs remains fierce.
This landmark deal for Los Blancos and technology leaders HP will place Real Madrid in an increasingly dominant position both financially and competitively long-term. The future looks bright for the Spanish club as they leverage their powerful global brand to stay at the cutting edge on and off the pitch.
