March 25, (THEWILL) – Manchester United’s hopes of signing Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid have been dealt a blow as the French midfielder is reportedly set to sign a new deal with the Spanish giants.

Fresh reports from the Spanish capital state that the 20-year-old will be offered fresh terms that include a huge release clause, possibly worth €1 billion (£874m). That will be a massive turnoff for any of the top sides in Europe’s big leagues and will keep interest in the midfielder off the front burner.

Camavinga joined Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021 for £26 million, with the Spanish club keen to secure a long-term replacement for Casemiro. Manchester United had been hoping to lure the young talent to Old Trafford, but may now have to look elsewhere as Los Blancos attempt to lock him down.

Real Madrid are said to be seeking a whopping £115 million for Camavinga and are willing to offer him a contract with a release clause that would make him one of the most expensive players in the world. If United want to secure the French international’s services, they may need to break their club record fee, but with the latest developments, that could prove to be a difficult task.
