July 02, (THEWILL) – European champions Real Madrid are getting ready to take legal action in support of the Los Blancos supporters, who they believe were wrongfully fined by French police for the disturbances at the UEFA Champions League final.
The French authorities’ unwarranted hostility before, during, and after the game, as well as the absence of police presence when it came to defending fans from muggings after the game, bothered the La Liga champions, who joined Liverpool in expressing their anger, as THEWILL reported.
Several Real fans reportedly were fined by French authorities for wearing their team colours while going around the Eiffel Tower or down the Champs-Elysees under the charge of “prohibited demonstrations.” To make matters worse, the €375 fines were handed out more than a month after the event, with police tracking the offending spectators and issuing punishments.
But, Real has committed to taking legal action to investigate the allegations after hearing about these fines.
