November 05, (THEWILL) — Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has spoken out amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, addressing allegations of domestic conflict and defending her mother, Rita Daniels, from public criticism.

In a video shared on Instagram, Daniels expressed emotional strain over what she described as weeks of online harassment, rumours of drug abuse, and reports of family members being arrested. She insisted that many of the claims circulating about her marriage and private life were false.

She said, “The main essence of this video is to beg you to stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She is my god on earth. She’s been strong for seven years. My mom held it down. She tried. You all insulted her, but she tried.”

Daniels stated that contrary to public belief, her mother did not influence or pressure her into marrying Nwoko.

She disclosed that her family initially opposed the relationship, but she moved forward with it because she was genuinely in love.

She stated, “You all should stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me — we were not broke. What amount of money can a man give to a mother who already has a child providing for the whole family? Through me, my mom trained all her children. I was a blessing to her, and God used me to settle her.”

The actress also reaffirmed her commitment to raising her two sons, Munir and Khalifa, regardless of the challenges in her marriage.

“I’m going to fight for my children. I’ll take them, train them, and raise them with or without your support,” she said.

Daniels added that despite the conflict, she still holds respect for her husband.

“I did fall in love, and I still care and respect him. That’s love — care and respect. The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is that I want Munir and Khalifa’s father’s name to remain strong,” she stated.

She did not provide further details on the current state of the marriage, but appealed to the public to allow her and her family to heal privately.
