July 18, (THEWILL) – Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has denied rumours that he is close to returning to Sporting CP of Portugal.
Concerned that the Manchester United team is not prepared to compete for trophies next season, Ronaldo has urged his current employers to consider any offers for him this summer and a number of teams are rumoured to be interested in signing the 37-year-old.
One of these teams recently linked to Ronaldo is Sporting, the striker’s former club, and social media recently went into overdrive after a picture of what was allegedly Ronaldo’s car at Sporting’s Estadio Jose Alvalade surfaced.
However, the iconic forward has debunked the claims with the briefest of responses. Ronaldo just wrote “Fake.” on the Instagram post of his car at the stadium.
Due to “personal reasons,” Ronaldo missed United’s preseason tour this summer and the opportunity to play against Nani, a former teammate who played for Melbourne Victory on Friday as Erik ten Hag’s club thrashed them 4-1.
