June 18 (THEWILL) — Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a five-year restraining order against a man accused of repeatedly attempting to enter her home.

On Wednesday, June 17, a judge issued the order against William Applegate after several alleged attempts to access the pop star’s Los Angeles residence.

Court records say Applegate tried to enter Carpenter’s home more than a dozen times. In one incident, he allegedly reached her front door through a neighbouring property and assaulted a security guard before being arrested.

During the hearing, Applegate claimed he and Carpenter were part of a fictional “military programme” and said they needed to “be together as soon as possible” for “national and global security.” He also said he would stay away if she told him directly.

Judge David L. Wasserman granted the restraining order, ordering Applegate to stay at least 100 yards away from Carpenter, her home, and her family members. He is also banned from contacting her or possessing firearms.

The judge warned Applegate in court to follow legal orders rather than his personal beliefs, saying he must obey the court’s ruling “not what you think is right, not what you think the military commands you.”

Applegate remains under criminal investigation, but no charges have been filed.
