November 04, (THEWILL) – Eight players have been shortlisted for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award in October 2021, with the nominees open to be voted for by fans. These fan votes will be pooled together with those from a panel of football experts to determine the winner, who will be unveiled next week.
The following are the names in the shortlist of those nominated and a brief look at their contributions for their EPL clubs in the month.
Ben Chilwell (CHELSEA)
In October, the left-back showed a good eye for goal by scoring in three consecutive games against Southampton, Brentford, and Norwich City, as well as contributing to three clean sheets for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Maxwel Cornet (BURNLEY)
Burnley’s summer recruit, Cornet, has had a fantastic start at Turf Moor, scoring three goals in as many starts last month, including breathtaking finishes against Southampton and Brentford and he is enjoying life in the Premiership enough to get a nod for the award.
Phil Foden (MANCHESTER CITY)
Manchester City’s attacking midfielder scored a great goal in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool and excelled with two goals and an assist in a 4-1 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Tino Livramento (SOUTHAMPTON)
The 18-year-old right-back maintained his outstanding first season in senior football by maintaining two clear sheets, winning a penalty against Chelsea, and scoring his first goal against Burnley.
Aaron Ramsdale (ARSENAL)
In the month of October, Ramsdale made 17 saves and had two clean sheets. He made eight of those 17 saves in a magnificent performance against Leicester City, and he was also at his best in a 3-1 home victory over Aston Villa.
Declan Rice (WEST HAM)
Rice remains a powerful presence in midfield for West Ham United, scoring and assisting in back-to-back 1-0 victories against Everton and Spurs before scoring and assisting in a 4-1 victory at Villa Park.
Mohamed Salah (LIVERPOOL)
Salah, who is the most likely to win due to his outstanding displays for the Reds, had nine goal involvements in a fantastic October, scoring brilliant solo goals against Man City and Watford before claiming a hat-trick against Manchester United in a 5-0 triumph.
Youri Tielemans (LEICESTER)
Tielemans produced spectacular goals in back-to-back triumphs over Manchester United and Brentford, and he was a controlling presence in Leicester’s midfield throughout the month.
