July 6, (THEWILL) — Nigerian music promoter and socialite, Samson Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, is alive and receiving treatment after a serious road accident in Lagos.
His associate, Akin Abolade, also known as Mr Lilgaga, dismissed reports of his death, confirming on Monday that Sam Larry survived the crash.
“Yes, he’s alive and not dead, but his condition cannot be ascertained because of how bad the accident was. We spoke after the accident. He’s alive, and I’m sure of that”, Abolade said.
The accident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State. The vehicle carrying Sam Larry was said to have collided with a trailer.
One of his close associates, identified as his bouncer Wale (also known as Adewale), died at the scene of the crash.
Footage shared on social media showed heavy damage to the vehicle, which fueled online rumours that Sam Larry had died and suffered severe leg injuries.
However, Abolade said those claims could not be confirmed and urged the public to disregard false reports.
Sam Larry is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.
