July 30, (THEWILL) — Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected federal prison release date has been moved forward again, with the Federal Bureau of Prisons now listing January 24, 2028, as his expected release date.

The updated date comes after five adjustments to his release timeline. Following his sentencing, Combs’ projected release date moved from the original May 2028 to June 2028, before being brought forward to April 2028, February 2028, and now January 2028.

The reason for the latest adjustment has not been publicly disclosed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Release dates for federal inmates can change based on official sentence calculations, earned credits, and approved programs, but authorities have not confirmed what factors contributed to Combs’ latest update.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence after he was convicted in October 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, following a high-profile trial.

The music mogul’s legal team has continued to challenge the conviction through an appeal, arguing that aspects of the case should be reconsidered. Combs has maintained his legal fight as he serves his sentence.

The latest release date update comes after reports that Combs was placed in solitary confinement at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey following an alleged altercation with another inmate.

Details surrounding the reported incident remain unclear. Prison officials declined to comment on the matter, citing privacy and security rules regarding individual inmates.

Despite the legal challenges and prison reports, Combs’ projected release date has continued to move earlier than previous estimates.

The Bad Boy Records founder remains incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix while serving his sentence and pursuing his appeal.
