August 03, (THEWILL) — Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” has officially been certified Platinum in France, marking another international milestone for the 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem.
The certification was awarded by France’s National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP) on August 3, 2026, just weeks after the song received Gold certification on July 13. The rapid upgrade reflects the song’s strong streaming performance in the country.
The certification gives Burna Boy his 11th Platinum-certified single in France, extending his record as the Nigerian artist with the most Platinum-certified songs in the country. His total includes songs that remain at Platinum level as well as tracks that later achieved Diamond status.
Released in May, “Dai Dai” blends Shakira’s Latin pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style and became one of the standout collaborations of the year.
The song has also earned certifications in several other countries, including the United States, Spain, Colombia, Portugal, Hungary and Slovakia, highlighting its strong international appeal.
The latest milestone reflects Burna Boy’s continued commercial success in France, where his catalogue remains one of the most decorated by an African artiste.
Burna Boy’s certified singles in France include Platinum hits “Dai Dai”, “City Boys”, “Ye”, “Donne-moi L’accord”, and “Collateral Damage”, alongside Diamond-certified songs “Last Last”, “On The Low”, “Gbona”, “Be Honest”, “Location”, and “WE PRAY”.
His 2019 album “African Giant” is also certified Platinum in France.
