May 15, (THEWILL) — Global music star Shakira has released “Dai Dai,” the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2026, in collaboration with Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
The Colombian singer announced the release on her social media pages on Friday.
She wrote: “Dai Dai is here. The @FIFAWorldCup 2026 starts now!”
The song is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.
FIFA also confirmed the release in a statement shared on X.
“Today, excitement for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ continues to build with the release of Dai Dai, featuring Shakira and Burna Boy via Sony Music Latin.
“Dai Dai will be the Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Song in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD100 million by the end of the tournament to provide children around the world with access to quality education and football opportunities,” the statement read.
According to FIFA, royalties from the song will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The organization added that Shakira will donate her royalties from the track, while Sony Music will match the first $250,000 raised with an extra donation.
The release marks Shakira’s return to the World Cup stage after her hit songs “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 tournament in South Africa and “La La La” for the 2014 edition in Brazil.
For Burna Boy, the collaboration makes him the second Nigerian artiste to feature on a FIFA World Cup soundtrack after Davido, who appeared on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” for the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Shakira is also expected to co-headline the tournament’s final halftime show on July 19, the first halftime performance in FIFA World Cup history.
