December 15, (THEWILL) –Â Lawal Olawale Olumo, also known as Konga has accused Mavin record boss, Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy, of refusing to acknowledge his inputs in his record label.
The singer made his grievances known after Don Jazzy granted an interview with a broadcasting house where he stated how he discovered Wande Coal.
Don Jazzy said he discovered Wande Coal at the University of Lagos, UNILAG when he went for a show. He said Wande Coal came to entertain them behind the stage with some of his friends.
The two exchanged numbers and then, Wande Coal got signed up on Mohit Record in 2006. When D’Banj and Don Jazzy fell apart, Don Jazzy went to establish Mavin record and Wande Coal also join the new record label.
Konga however insists that he linked Wande Coal up with him.
According to him, he wanted to help Wande Coal achieve his dream of becoming a super star. He stated that his action also uplifted Mohit record status.
However, 17 years after, he was not compensated and the record label did not appreciate his efforts.
Konga asked Wande Coal to remind his ex-boss of how he left his own event to search for him inside UNILAG spot center and took him back stage to introduce him to Don Jazzy. He also requested him to perform Ololufe for Don Jazzy and D’Banj backstage.
He lamented and stated that it has become a die-hard habit for entertainers not to give their colleagues their due credit. The singer said he would not take the ingratitude and disrespect from his colleagues in the industry any more and urged the Mavin record boss to do the needful.
