February 13, (THEWILL) — Celebrity nightlife promoter Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He made the announcement on Instagram on Friday, sharing photos of Tinubu with Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and businessman Emeka Offor.
Responding to critics who called his support a betrayal, he wrote: “If an Igbo Man Supporting Tinubu Is A Betrayal, What Is A Yoruba Man Supporting Obi? We Can Only Be Nigerians For Us To Per Take In Nigeria.”
The socialite said Tinubu has a political advantage ahead of 2027 and urged Nigerians to avoid tribal politics.
“Tinubu Is 20 Steps Ahead, Can’t You Guys Read The Lines. How Can We Comfortably Decide To Fail Again All In The Name Of Being Tribalistic?”
He also referenced Tinubu’s political journey, including his support for former president Muhammadu Buhari before becoming president.
“For Tinubu To Become President He Motioned Buhari A Hausa Man & Waited For 8 Years Before He Could Become President. Na Him Be That EMILOKAN Wey Baba Dey Shout. Tinubu SERVED !!!!”
Cubana Chief Priest urged Nigerians to back a leader with structure and warned against supporting another candidate in 2027.
“Leaving Tinubu To Support Any Other Candidate For This Election Is Like Not Looking Both Ways Before Crossing The Road. Follow Who Know Road, Stay With Person Wey Get Structure So That You Sef Fit Tap In & Plan For Your Own Better Future.”
He concluded: “Only Time Will Tell, If You Can’t Beat Them You Join Them. Umunne It’s Better To Be Inside Than Outside. Think Am Well, Join @cityboy.movement_hq.”
His comments have generated reactions online, particularly because in 2022 he stated that “only an Igbo president will fix (Nigeria)” and actively campaigned for Peter Obi and the Labour Party ahead of the February 25, 2023, presidential election.
Cubana Chief Priest was recently announced as Imo State director of the City Boy Movement, a support group backing Tinubu’s re-election bid.
