
December 17, (THEWILL) – Nigerian female pidgin sport commentator, Tracey Chapele-Ugo, has broken an almost 100-year tradition, as she was honoured with a chieftaincy title in Urhobo land.
The first female to ever bagged such a chieftaincy title, revealed that such title has never been given to a female before, it can only be transferred from a father to a son but the present King of Udu in Delta State decided to transfer her father’s chieftaincy title to her.
She wrote; “Today my Ovie deemed me worthy. Today the Udu Kingdom of Urhobo land deemed me worthy.
“Today I have fulfilled ALL requirements as deemed fit by my King, the Council of Elders and the Udu people.
“Today my King has transferred my father’s legacy to me: Introducing Olorogun (Chief) “Avwerosuoghene Chapele, the Okugbe 2 (Unity/Peacemaker) of Udu Kingdom.
