SAN FRANCISCO, November 12, (THEWILL) –Â The Nigerian men’s national football team the Super Eagles continue their preparations ahead of the double-header African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, the first leg of which is billed for 5pm on Friday, November 13 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
THEWILL can report that at their Eterna Hotel camp, Gernot Rohr’s charges are getting attuned to their training schedules by the day. All 19 of the 23 invited players in camp partake actively and the camaraderie is growing especially with the set of players who are still getting used to the squad.
The Nigeria Football Federation social media handle shared the team’s itinerary for Thursday, November 13.
“9am we had breakfast, then there will be an official press conference at 11am(virtual), team meeting at 12.30pm, lunch at 1.15pm, training from 6pm(behind closed doors), dinner at 8.30pm and we then retire to bed at 11pm. #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong”
THEWILL notes that the Super Eagles will be up against a mixed-bag of domestic and international players as evidenced from the team sheet of invited players for the Leone Stars. THEWILL hopes the men in Green-White-Green will triumph home and away and keep the winning streak that has so far seen them retain leadership of Group L in the qualifying series for Cameroon 2021 AFCON.
