June 5 (THEWILL) — Taylor Swift has released her new original song, “I Knew It, I Knew You”, for the upcoming animated film “Toy Story 5”.
The song was released on Friday, June 5, and marks Swift’s first new music since her 2025 album, “The Life of a Showgirl”.
To celebrate the release, Swift shared a childhood video of herself dressed as a cowgirl, a nod to Jessie, the popular “Toy Story” character who inspired the song.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once”, Swift wrote on Instagram.
“And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond”, she added.
The song was written with Swift’s longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff.
It has also attracted attention for its country sound, with many fans describing it as a return to Swift’s musical roots.
“Toy Story 5” is set to be released in cinemas on June 19.
