July 3 (THEWILL) — Pop star Taylor Swift and fiancé, Travis Kelce, have sparked fresh wedding rumours after hosting a star-studded event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday, July 2.
The couple, who announced their engagement in August 2025, has not confirmed they are getting married, and reports of a wedding this weekend remain unconfirmed.
A city permit obtained by the Associated Press shows about 100 guests attended a “pre-party” on Thursday, with a larger event planned for Friday, July 3. However, the permit does not identify the event as a wedding.
Celebrities seen arriving included Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Rachel Antonoff, Erin Andrews and Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine. Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez were also reported to be in New York ahead of the celebrations.
Heavy security surrounded the venue as guests arrived under a white canopy. Workers have spent days bringing equipment and decorations into the arena, adding to speculation that a wedding may be taking place.
Earlier this week, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to charities across the United States, including organisations in New York, Nashville and Kansas City. Swift’s representatives confirmed the donation but did not comment on the wedding rumours.
Despite the ongoing preparations and the arrival of celebrity guests, neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed that a wedding is taking place. Claims that the couple has already been legally married also remain unverified.
