Tems Makes History As First Nigerian Artist To Headline FIFA Club World Cup Halftime Show

June 09, (THEWILL) – Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has been announced as a headline performer for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup Final halftime show, marking a historic moment for African music on the global stage.

The groundbreaking event, scheduled for July 13, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, will feature Tems alongside international stars, Doja Cat and J Balvin. The show is being produced by Global Citizen with creative direction from Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

In a statement, Tems expressed her enthusiasm: “We are going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment, to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The FIFA Club World Cup will feature 32 teams from all across the world. It will be played in 11 cities around the United States. The event will begin on June 14, 2025.
