November 02, (THEWILL) – Liverpool pair of Thiago and Fabinho are “in contention” to play against Atletico Madrid, according to Jurgen Klopp, but Naby Keita is out indefinitely.

The midfield has been the source of Liverpool’s early injury difficulties this season, with five of their eight first-team midfielders having missed time due to injury spells on the sidelines.
After suffering a hamstring injury against Brighton, Keita became the latest casualty. Fabinho returned to training on Monday after missing the previous three games due to a “complicated” knee injury.
He and Thiago trained together, and Klopp delivered a welcome update on their availability ahead of Atletico Madrid’s visit.
“Fabinho and Thiago trained completely normal and are in contention, which is good obviously. Very helpful,” Klopp told reporters on Tuesday. “So we will see. Injuries in that period of the season are completely normal, as long as they are not too harsh we have to accept that.”
With Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones shouldering much of the responsibility, and Keita “out for a while” with a hamstring injury, having the duo back in the mix is a major benefit for Liverpool.
Keita joins James Milner and Harvey Elliott in the treatment room, but the return of Fabinho and Thiago as possibilities for Klopp is great news ahead of the important games against Atletico Madrid and West Ham United.
