July 1, (THEWILL) – Brazilian forward Richarlison has been officially confirmed as Tottenham Hotspur’s fourth summer signing and leaves Everton on a permanent basis.
Richarlison agreed to a five-year contract that will extend until the summer of 2027, with the transfer costing an estimated £50 million plus a further £10 million down the line. The confirmation came via a statement on the Spurs’ website that read: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Richarlison from Everton, subject to a work permit.”
The 25-year-old, who moved to England from Fluminense in the 2017 summer transfer window, has 48 goals in 173 Premier League games while playing for Everton and Watford and joins the north London side as the fourth player to sign this summer, joining Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Yves Bissouma.
Last season, he scored 11 goals in 33 games across all competitions. He will be firmly focused on earning a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad before the November tournament kicks off. In the 36 games he has played since making his Brazil debut in September 2018, he has scored 14 goals.
Spurs are reportedly in talks to get Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona as Antionio Conte tries to strengthen his defence. This means that Spurs’ activity in the transfer market is not yet complete.
