November 23, (THEWILL) – The Lagos Coroner Court has announced that the essential part of the autopsy to ascertain the cause of the death of late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, is currently being conducted in the United States of America.
On Wednesday, Oluwaseun Akinde, the State counsel, informed the Coroner Magistrate, Adetayo Shotobi, that the autopsy on the external body of the deceased had been completed.
Akinde made the disclosure in response to concerns raised by the counsel to Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, David Fadimu, TNKay Music Worldwide’s David Nawoola, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran and the representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.
The State counsel said, “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”
Mohbad, who died controversially on September 12, 2023, was buried the following day in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
In response to the outcry surrounding his death, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, ordered a forensic investigation to uncover the cause of death. Additionally, in line with the IGP’s directive, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, established a 10-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume the singer’s corpse and investigate his death.
