
January 06, (THEWILL) — Actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham’s Nollywood movie, Oversabi Aunty, has hit a major box office milestone, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Nigerian film of all time in West Africa.
According to an announcement by FilmOne Entertainment on Monday, Oversabi Aunty earned ₦711.5 million in cinemas within 18 days of its release.
FilmOne expressed gratitude to audiences, noting that their support played a key role in the film’s success.
In its post, the distributor wrote:
“West Africa, you showed up and showed out in an Oversabi way. Thank you for the love.
“In just 18 days, Oversabi Aunty grossed ₦711.5M, making it the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time in West Africa.
“Thank you to everyone for the love and support so far. This win is for all of us.”
The movie also grossed over ₦380 million in its first 11 days, highlighting its strong and sustained box office performance since its nationwide premiere on December 19, 2025
With this achievement, Oversabi Aunty has surpassed box office records set by Funke Akindele’s Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga.
Reacting to the success of the movie, Abraham thanked fans for their continued support, describing the milestone as a shared victory.
She stated:
“I may not have the perfect words, but my heart is full. Thank you, Lord, and thank you to every single person watching and supporting Oversabi Aunty. I am deeply grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
