Yannick Hanfmann, ranked 48th, convincingly beat the Greek player 6-4 3-6 6-2, raising concerns about Tsitsipas’ form ahead of Wimbledon. Hanfmann showcased a strong serve, not allowing Tsitsipas a single break point in the first set, and lost only one service game throughout the match. The German secured his victory with a powerful forehand down the line.
In the quarterfinals of the Mallorca Open, Hanfmann will face either Feliciano Lopez of Spain, who is competing in his final tournament before retirement, or Australia’s Jordan Thompson.
